Campuses
Initially, the university started at the Abbasia Campus and Khawaja Farid Campus with ten departments. Later, 1280 acres of land were allotted to the university on Hasilpur Road, about eight kilometers away from the city center which is known as Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus. Currently, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has the following five campuses in three cities of division Bahawalpur:
Abbasia Campus
A historical building was initially constructed by His Highness Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi-V in the heart of the city near Government Sadiq Egerton College at University Chowk, Bahawalpur, to impart higher education in 1950. Currently this campus maintains the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi Hall (a historical hall), Faculty of Law, Banks, Admission Cell, Registrar Office, Legal Cell, Examination Division, Accounts Division, Directorate of Outreach, Communications, and Public Relations, two students’ hostels; Abu Bakar Hall for Boys and Rabia Hall for Girls, Two Mosques, Medical and Health Division, Transport Division and Transport Division, Sports Ground, and University Guest House. The University Central Camp House is also located at nearby University Road.
Khawaja Fareed Campus
Khawaja Fareed Campus was also constructed by His Highness Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi-V in 1925, near Abbasia High School on Railway Road. Currently, the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences are functional there.
Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus
Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus (BJC), also known as Main Campus or BJ Campus, is located at Hasilpur Road, about eight kilometers from the city center. Ten out of thirteen faculties are established at BJ Campus. The campus is covered with proper security wall and also maintains a Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, Cricket Ground, Sports Complex, Squash Court, Separate Study Parks for Boys and Girls, Football Ground, Libraries, E-Rozgar Training Center, Computer Labs, Faculty Auditoriums, Main Auditorium, Local Market, Grand Jamia Masjid, Medical Center, Employees Residential Colony, Day Care Center, Student Hostels, Deer Breeding Farm, Research/Experimental Areas, Hakra Art Gallery, Plants Nursery, Solar Park, Cut Flower and Fresh Vegetables Farms, Fruits Farms, Fish Pond with Boating Facility, Cafeterias, Bank, Water Filtration Plants, un-interrupted Electricity Supply, availability of all Mobile Networks, Carpeted Roads, Clean and Green Environment and orchards make the atmosphere congenial for academic activities.
Other major buildings on the campus include the Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies, Directorate of Information and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Islamic Learning, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences, University Model School, and Syed Tabish Alwari Administrative Block.
Rahim Yar Khan Sub-Campus
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur established Rahim Yar Khan Sub-Campus in 2005. The Campus is located on Abu Dhabi Road, Rahim Yar Khan scattered over 80 acres of land. Currently, there are 22 teaching departments offering more than 44 undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of computing, natural sciences, business management, economics, humanities, arts, and languages.
Bahawalnagar Sub-Campus
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur established Bahawalnagar Sub-Campus in 2005. The campus is located on Minchanabad Road, Bahawalnagar, scattered over 50 acres of land. Currently, there are 22 teaching departments offering more than 40 undergraduate and post graduate programmes in the field of business management, natural and social sciences, arts and languages, and information and technology.
