On 23, November 2023, the Department of Gender Studies, Usman Buzdar School of State Sciences IUB arranged an opening ceremony at the main entrance of the Faculty of Arts Building. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti inaugurated it along with Prof. Dr. Yasmeen Roofi, Director Usman Buzdar School of State Sciences.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
