This was stated by Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob while talking to media in Islamabad. During the talks, they proposed to set up an agro-economic zone in Cholistan to mitigate the effects of the famine. He said that an agricultural area of 6.6 million acres could be established which could benefit the national economy to the tune of 10 Billion USD.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
