The Punjab government has installed two modern monitoring stations for measuring air quality index at Abbasia Campus and Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campus of Islamia University of Bahawalpur. With the installation of these devices, real data on air pollution is available in Bahawalpur.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
