23 July 2025: An agreement has been signed between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the Gansu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, People's Republic of China, to establish a Sino-Pak Joint Laboratory for the promotion of modern agriculture based on scientific technology.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
