11 August 2025: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Punjab Education Foundation Lahore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation for educational development. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Samina Nawaz, Deputy Managing Director, Punjab Education Foundation signed on behalf of their institutions.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
