HEC Holds Consultative Meeting on Incorporation of "Understanding the Holy Quran" Course
On March 28, 2025, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) organized a consultative meeting to discuss the integration of the "Understanding the Holy Quran (Fahm-e-Quran) course into the curriculum.
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar, Chairman of HEC.
Vice Chancellors from universities across the country, along with Deans, Chairpersons, and faculty members from relevant disciplines, participated both in-person and online. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), also joined virtually.
During the meeting, several key decisions were made regarding the course structure and implementation. Vice Chancellors shared their perspectives on its significance and potential impact.
The Faculty of Islamic and Arabic Studies at IUB remains actively engaged in curriculum development and teacher training for this initiative. This includes the establishment of a Department of Translation Studies and the appointment of specialized faculty members.
Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiq Ur Rehman, Dean Faculty of Islamic and Arabic studies, teachers from the Department of Translation Studies and Islamic Studies also participated in the meeting in the HEC Smart Class Room at Institute of Business Management and Administrative Sciences.
