The 17th meeting of the Senate of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur was held at the Abbasia Campus under the chairmanship of Governor Punjab and Chancellor Engr. Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman. In the meeting, the budget of Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23 was (7058.4) (8093.9) million rupees respectively.
Governor Punjab and Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Engr. Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman has said that teachers have the main role in shaping the character of students. A good society can be created by inculcating high moral values in our students.
Punjab Governor and Chancellor Engr. Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman has said that economic stability is necessary to give the country a dignified place in the ranks of nations. In this era of globalization, the role of higher education institutions is of utmost importance for the development of knowledge-based economy.
In pursuance of Vice Chancellor Eng. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob emphasis to raise concern on mental health and wellbeing and to mobilize support for mental health, an Awareness walk was organized to enhance the significance of mental among students, employees of the IUB, and the community at large.
On the direction of Prof. Dr. Jawad Iqbal, Dean/Director Institute of Business, Management and Administrative Sciences. Today an interactive session was conducted with Mr. Ali Haider, Trainer/Public Speaker, School of Leadership Karachi.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
