A memorandum of understanding was signed between Islamia University of Bahawalpur and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature Pakistan to promote research activities and joint ventures. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Islamia University of Bahawalpur and National Police Bureau Islamabad for mutual cooperation and collaboration.
The Zhongan University of Economics and Law of the People's Republic of China has announced three scholarships for M.Phil and Ph.D programs for students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. These scholarships are fully funded for tuition fee, accommodation and other expenses.
Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, in an interview, said that the projects inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Imran Khan during his visit to Bahawalpur, will focus on the future of agriculture in Pakistan.

The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
