The Department of English Linguistics, IUB, will host a public defense for PhD candidate Ms. Zeenat
Naz at 11.00 AM on August 21, 2025. Ms.Zeenat Naz will defend her doctoral thesis titled "A Corpus-Based Study of English Fiction Written by Pakistani and Native Authors".  She conducted her research under the supervision of Dr. Riaz Hussain, Chairman Department of English Linguistics. In this open defense, Dr Asma Kashif Shahzad, Associate Professor, 
Humanities Department
COMSATS University Islamabad, Vehari Campus, will serve as external examiner. The research aims to computationally analyze  the language used by British and Pakistani writers of English fiction. The Venue for this academic event  is Study Information Commons (SIC),  Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Library,  Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
