The one-year term of the Student Society at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has come to an end. Commissioner Bahawalpur Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal was the chief guest on the occasion. He along with Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob distributed certificates among the advisors, presidents, general secretaries and more than 150 executive members of the societies.
Commissioner Bahawalpur Captain (R) Zafar Iqbal along with Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob today inaugurated four new buses at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Senior faculty members, officers, deans and a large number of students were present on the occasion.
Inauguration ceremony of the Project Cut-Flower and Vegetable Production, Research and Training Cell was held at Baghdad ul Jadeed Campus, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor inaugurated the project along with Mr. Tanveer Mehmood Chaudhary, President Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry who graced the occasion as guest of honor.
Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that the achievement of a separate Muslim state on the world map was possible only with the golden principles of faith, unity and discipline of Quaid-e-Azam Muhamamd Ali Jinnah.
Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob was the chief guest at a special Christmas function held at Islamia University Bahawalpur. He cut a Christmas cake with faculty members, students and Christian community in the Abbasia Campus.
The Department of Library and Information Science in collaboration with Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Centre (PASTIC), sub-centre, Faisalabad organized an Online Workshop on Mendeley- Reference Management Software for faculty members, PhD and MPhil scholars, medical professionals and trainees.
Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha, Chairman Department of Social Work and Dr. Azhar Hussain, Assistant Professor, Soil Sciences participated in Online Training Workshop on ‘Higher Education Portal (HEP), established under the Ambit of Rehnumai Markaz.
Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Director, Research, Innovation and Commercialization, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Chairman, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics participated in an event held in connection with Kissan Day on 18th Dec at Governor’s House, Lahore.

Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that state of the art teaching, researches, and training facilities are being setup in the University in the field of Medical and Allied Health Sciences.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
