As many as 4140 students of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur received Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Scholarships worth Rs. 190 million. In this connection, a ceremony was held at Abbasia Campus participated by scholarship recipients, parents, faculty members and representatives of civil society.
Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has said that the University has established Office of Occupational Safety and Health (OSAH) to identify workplace hazards for all employees and to develop the safety and health manuals.

The Punjab Higher Education Commission has awarded International Post Doctorate Scholarship to Dr. Muhammad Shakir, faculty member department of Educational Training, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur.
The Islamia University of Bahawalpur was established in the year 1975 by upgrading historical institute of the Jamia Abbasia.
