QECACs in Affiliated Colleges of IUB

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has mandated the establishment of Quality Enhancement Cells affiliated colleges (QECACs) in all universities. The QECACs are responsible for promoting quality culture and ensuring the implementation of quality assurance processes in their respective institutions.

Quality Enhancement Cell of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur has set up QECACs units and appointed QEC focal persons at the affiliated colleges for proper functioning and maintaining quality standards as per the criteria of HEC. On this matter, Prof. Dr. M. Asadullah Madni, Director, QEC along-with Rao Mazhar Hussain, Additional Director QEC attended a meeting at the HEC regional center Lahore. Mr. Afzaal, Director for QECACs, HEC applauded the efforts of the Vice Chancellor and QEC for fulfilling all relevant terms and conditions

The QECACs are responsible for:

1. Developing and implementing quality assurance processes

2. Conducting self-assessment and peer review

3. Identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures

4. Promoting quality culture and awareness among faculty and students

5. Collaborating with the IUB's Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) to ensure compliance with HEC's quality assurance standards

In first phase QECACs unit selected 68 colleges offering BS programs, for implementation of self-assessment exercise. Program team members through QEC focal persons of following colleges had submitted the Self-assessment reports, QEC conducted Programme Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) of following different Affiliated Colleges detailed below.

For the second phase, affiliated colleges have been selected and orientation sessions on QA matters and capacity building workshops for teachers, students and administration being provided to promote quality culture.
